THE SETUP
Cian is speaking to Andrew about the exact time of his friend Byron’s death.
“You know, the clock should really stop in a hospital room when that happens.”
CIAN
They don’t do seconds on the certificate. Besides, their official time of death is a little later than mine. They had to try. But I knew he was gone. I lost a few seconds in there somewhere. You know, the clock should really stop in a hospital room when that happens. Out of respect. For them. For you. Give you a chance to catch up. Note the time. Mark the moment. Instead, the second hand just keeps sweeping around, carrying the others along with it.
